
BIOGRAPHY
Mounir Bourouba
Mr. Mounir Bourouba holds a PhD in Political Sociology, with honors, from Algiers University.
He is also holder of a Magister in Political Sociology and Specialized Post-Graduation in Organization from Algiers University.
Graduated from National School of Administration (ENA) of Algiers, he pursued studies earning a diploma from the Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations (IDRI – Algiers).
At the same time, he has undergone several training programs in diplomacy, peacekeeping operations, conflict resolution and international negotiations in Switzerland, Belgium, France, Spain, Germany and South Korea.
Throughout his career, Mr. Mounir Bourouba has held several key positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Chargé d’Etudes et de Synthèse – Senior Counsellor to the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Assistant Director for Media Relations.
He also served as Head of Central and Western Africa Office and was involved to issues related to Eastern and Southern African countries, as well as African multilateral affairs (peace and security, conflict resolution, development).
Furthermore, he was Head of Iberian Peninsula Office (Spain and Portugal).
As a member of Algerian delegations, he took part to several Summits of Heads of State and Government of African Union and Arab League.
Regarding his positions abroad, Mr. Bourouba served as Deputy Head of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires at Algeria Embassy in Accra (Ghana). He was, moreover, Head of Economic and Trade Department at Algeria Embassy in Berlin (Germany).
Prior to his appointment as Ambassador of Algeria in Angola and Sao Tomé & Principe, he served as Consul General of Algeria in Strasbourg (France).
Acting in that capacity, he was also Representative of Algeria to European Institutions in Strasbourg (Council of Europe, European Court for Human Rights, Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, European Center for Interdependence and International Solidarity, European Commission for Democracy through Law and European Commission for Efficiency of Justice).
He was also in charge of issues related to the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
He speaks Arabic, French, English and German.
Mr. Mounir Bourouba was born in August 19th, 1981, in Algiers. He is married, with two children.
